un·der·dog
noun
competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest.

Most of the dogs at woofwoof fosters come from various animal control shelters in the southeastern region of Tennessee. We also take in dogs from hoarding situations and owner surrenders that might otherwise end up in a shelter. Our goal at woofwoof fosters is to rescue the forgotten ones - the dogs that no one comes for, the ones that become urgent because their time has run out. We are committed to providing the best possible care for the dogs that come into our care while they wait for their forever homes. This includes getting them used to life outside of a shelter environment and providing them with appropriate veterinary care. Every dog is on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. As part of their acclimation, we teach them how to be a dog, proper house manners, and socialize them with people and other dogs. While some shelters may have to euthanize for space, we are a no-kill rescue, and healthy, friendly pets in our care will not be euthanized for lack of space. We look forward to a bright future working with anyone who wants to be part of the solution to end the killing, abuse, and neglect of these innocent animals.
